Transcribe Scanned Text to Excel
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I have a stack of scanned documents whose text needs to be keyed into a clean, well-organized Excel spreadsheet. The material is entirely text (no numbers or calculations), and I need each line reproduced exactly as it appears, preserving spelling, punctuation, and any paragraph breaks. Accuracy is more important than speed; even small typos will cause problems for the next stage of the project.
You are free to use any workflow that suits you—manual typing, OCR followed by proofreading, or a mix of both—as long as the final result arrives in an .xlsx file with one sheet per document and each page’s text placed in its own column. Please double-check for dropped characters, mis-read symbols, and inconsistent spacing before delivering the file.
If you’re comfortable working in Excel and have a good eye for detail, I’d like to get started right away.
