Project Description:
I am looking for a detail-oriented freelancer to extract text from multiple PDF and Word documents. Some of the files are scanned, so strong OCR skills are required.
The goal is to produce clean, accurate text that maintains the original structure, including headings, paragraphs, and section breaks.
Scope of Work:
Extract full text from supplied PDF and Word documents
Use reliable OCR tools for scanned files
Maintain original formatting structure (headings, spacing, paragraph breaks)
Ensure no missing sections or garbled characters
Perform a quality check before submission
Deliverables:
One consolidated file (or separate files if cleaner) containing all extracted text
Clean formatting ready for publishing or content processing
Spot-check confirmation that the text matches the originals
Requirements:
Experience with OCR tools (Adobe Acrobat, ABBYY FineReader, or similar)
Strong attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines
