Mobile Barcode Scanner App Development

Project Overview
We’re looking for a developer or small team to build a cross-platform mobile app (iOS and Android) that evaluates food product quality through barcode and ingredient scanning. The app will scan product barcodes, QR codes, and OCR ingredient labels, then send the data to a custom API, which returns a 0–100 quality score for display.
Core Features Required
• Barcode and QR code scanning
• OCR for extracting ingredient lists
• API call to return a product score (0–100)
• Firebase login and user data logging
• Clean, minimalist interface focused on speed and clarity
Additional Notes
• API details and logic will be provided after NDA is signed
• We may expand into image-based AI scoring later — flexibility is a plus
• Bonus if you’ve built similar scanning or nutrition-focused apps before
Ideal Profile
• Proficient in cross-platform mobile development
• Experience with Firebase (auth and data logging)
• Familiarity with OCR (Tesseract, Google ML Kit, etc.)
• Solid understanding of barcode/QR frameworks (Zxing, MLKit, etc.)
• Clean code structure and UI design for scalability
