Invoice OCR Prototype Development

Project Title: Prototype “Staging Area” for Invoice OCR – React / Next.js / Node.js
Project Description:
I’m developing a platform that captures data from municipal electricity and water invoices. I need a developer to initially create a staging web app to test automatic data extraction (OCR) from PDFs.
Initial Goal:
Build a secure prototype where I can upload a batch of PDF invoices and view structured data output (Invoice No, Date, Amount Due, Payments Received, etc.).
Accuracy of OCR and clarity of data presentation are the main priorities.
The system will later expand into a full data management platform, so clean and modular code is important.
Preferred Stack: Frontend: React or Next.js (TypeScript)
Backend: Node.js / Express
OCR Integration: Google Document AI, AWS Textract, or another API
Database (optional for prototype): SQLite / PostgreSQL
Deployment: Vercel, AWS, or Netlify
Deliverables: Login-protected staging web app.
Upload + view OCR results page.
Export to CSV/JSON. Clear documentation for how to extend the project.
Looking For: Proven experience with OCR or document parsing.
Strong TypeScript / React / Next.js background.
Someone who writes clean, well-commented code and can communicate clearly.
Once the prototype proves successful, the project may expand into a full-featured platform for managing 3,000+ invoices with analytics dashboards.
