Digitize Historic Manuscripts to Word

I have a collection of English-language historical manuscripts that must move from their fragile paper form into fully searchable Microsoft Word documents. Every page needs to look and read as it did in the original, so the layout, headings, footnotes, pagination, and any special typography must be preserved—not modernized.

You may rely on high-quality scanning and OCR, but wherever the software stumbles I expect careful manual correction. Accuracy comes first; the finished files should let me hit Ctrl + F and find any word instantly without discovering OCR errors. If the manuscripts include handwritten notes in the margins, place them in Word comments so they remain linked to their source line.

Deliverables
• One Word file per manuscript, faithfully mirroring the original formatting and fully searchable
• The corresponding cleaned image scans (TIFF or PDF) used for reference
• A brief log of pages or lines where manual intervention was required, so I can audit tricky sections

Acceptance criteria: at least 99 % textual accuracy, identical page structure, and seamless searchability throughout the document.
