PX4 Drone QR Scan & Land
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I’m ready to upgrade my PX4-based quadcopter with two core behaviours: (1) detect and read a QR code from the downward-facing camera and (2) touch down precisely on the corresponding marked spot. Everything must first run in PX4 Autopilot Simulation (SITL) and then transfer seamlessly to the actual hardware.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Build or adapt a PX4 SITL world where a visible QR code can be placed, moved, and reliably recognised.
• Develop the companion-computer or onboard module—OpenCV, MAVSDK/MAVROS, or similar—that decodes the QR, publishes the result, and triggers an autonomous landing sequence.
• Tune the landing controller for accuracy so the real aircraft can repeat the manoeuvre indoors or outdoors with the same camera and firmware stack.
• Provide a clear hand-off package: source code, parameter files, and a step-by-step deployment guide so I can flash and fly without guesswork.
Acceptance criteria
1. In simulation, the vehicle must identify the QR within two seconds of entering its field of view and land within a 15 cm radius of the code’s center.
2. On the real drone, following your guide, I should achieve the same performance under normal lighting conditions.
3. All work must be reproducible on a fresh Ubuntu install running the current PX4 release.
