Build a Custom Orthodox Theology Chatbot with Comparative Religion Logic (Web-Based)

Project Description

I’m looking for an experienced AI full-stack developer to build a custom web application that uses OpenAI GPT (4-turbo or 5) to present and explain Eastern Orthodox Christian theology.

Goal

Create an interactive Orthodox Chatbot where a user can:

Select or describe their current belief system (Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Atheist, etc.)

Ask about a topic (e.g. Trinity, icons, salvation, scripture, etc.)

Receive a step-by-step, side-by-side explanation comparing their group’s belief with the Orthodox perspective, backed by theological and historical reasoning.

Core Requirements

Custom front-end (React, Vue, or similar) — clean, book-style interface, with dropdown or chat input.

Backend (Node.js or Python/FastAPI) to handle OpenAI API calls and securely store the key.

Integration with OpenAI API (GPT-4-turbo or GPT-5).

Ability to upload or connect theological text data (e.g. patristic writings, councils, catechisms) to improve response accuracy via embeddings / RAG (LangChain, Pinecone, or similar).

Output should display side-by-side belief comparison and Orthodox explanation.

Include a short disclaimer (“Educational only; not pastoral advice”).

Deployment on Vercel, Render, or AWS.

Deliverables

Fully functional web app (front + back end).

Clean, readable code and documentation.

Instructions for updating sources and prompts later.

Ideal Developer

Experience with OpenAI API, LangChain / LlamaIndex, and vector databases.

Solid background in React / Next.js or Vue for front-end.

Ability to design a clean, user-friendly interface.

Familiarity or comfort working with religious / theological content (preferred but not required).
