Shopify Automation System – AliExpress (PUDA) to Fully Optimised Product Listings with AI (Make/Zapier + OpenAI)

Project Overview:
I am looking for an experienced Shopify developer / automation specialist to build a complete end-to-end system that automates product listing creation for my Shopify store.

The goal is to streamline my workflow from importing products via AliExpress (using the PUDA app) through to fully optimised, SEO-ready product listings with minimal manual input.

This should be built using a no-code / low-code approach (Make or Zapier + OpenAI API + Shopify API), not a full custom app.

What the System Needs to Do:

Step 1 – Product Import (Already in Place):
- Products are imported from AliExpress using the PUDA app
- Products land in Shopify as drafts

Step 2 – Trigger Automation:
- Detect new Shopify products (or products tagged e.g. “needs-description”)
- This should trigger the automation workflow

Step 3 – AI Content Generation (Critical):
Using OpenAI API, generate the following:
- SEO-optimised product title
- 300-word product description (3 paragraphs)
- Product specifications (structured format)
- Key features (4–5 bullet points)
- SEO title
- URL handle
- Meta description

IMPORTANT:
- I will provide a strict format (Section 1–7 structure)
- Output must follow this format exactly
- Must use Australian spelling (e.g. colour, customise)
- Content should be optimised for Google Merchant Center free listings

Step 4 – Shopify Product Update:
Automatically populate:
- Product title
- Description (properly formatted HTML)
- Metafields (if applicable)
- Tags
- URL handle

Ensure:
- Clean formatting
- No broken layouts
- Consistent structure across all products

Step 5 – Review / Approval Layer (Important):
- Add a tag such as “ready-to-publish” after automation completes
- I want the ability to quickly review products before publishing

Key Requirements:
- Experience with Shopify API
- Experience with Make or Zapier (Make preferred)
- Experience integrating OpenAI API
- Strong understanding of Shopify product structure (variants, metafields, tags)
- Ability to handle edge cases (missing data, messy imports, etc.)
- Clean, scalable workflow design

- SEO knowledge (especially product listings)
- Ability to suggest improvements to workflow efficiency
