USB/COM Scale-Odoo Integration

I’m running Odoo 18 Enterprise on Odoo.sh and I need a ready-made, production-tested way to read weights from a scale that is attached to a Windows POS workstation through either USB (HID) or a plain COM port. We do not want to involve an IoT Box or any additional hardware; the PC already receives the scale’s output correctly through its virtual COM/USB driver.

Here’s the exact flow I need to see inside Odoo POS:
– Cashier clicks the product that is sold by weight.
– Cashier presses the “Scale” button.
– The weight from the connected scale instantly fills the Qty field, rounding or trimming exactly as the scale transmits.

Any COM-capable scale brand is acceptable on our side—we just need your solution to speak to it reliably. If you already have an Odoo module, a lightweight Windows service, or other middleware that achieves this, I’m happy to test and deploy it right away. Custom coding is fine only if it’s part of an existing, proven package; I’m explicitly looking to avoid a from-scratch development cycle.

Deliverables (all must be provided):
1. Installation package or module, ready to drop into Odoo 18 EE on Odoo.sh with minimal configuration.
2. Clear setup guide for Windows 10/11 workstations (USB or COM driver notes, if any).
3. Short test plan so we can confirm that the “Scale” button correctly captures weight in live POS sessions.
