Odoo Multi-Company Accounting Oversight
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
We are a growing technology and retail group operating in both the Canary Islands and mainland Spain. We are seeking an experienced Odoo accountant to take full ownership of our accounting operations across multiple companies.
We are migrating from Holded to Odoo and need someone who can handle the full scope of accounting, ensure legal compliance, streamline processes, and provide clear forecasting and financial guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Full accounting management in Odoo: accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll, tax submissions, and monthly closings
Manage the migration of accounting data from Holded into Odoo, ensuring proper configuration of suppliers, ledgers, journals, and tax codes
Ensure full compliance with Spanish accounting standards and Verifactu requirements by January 1st
Handle accounting across three companies with different tax rules:
ZEC entity in Canary Islands: charges 7% IGIC
Minorista entity: absorbs IGIC on sales, claims it on purchases
Mainland company: charges and deducts 21% VAT
Oversee and reconcile approximately 500–600 sales invoices per month (already created by internal staff), plus 50–100 purchase invoices
Set up and manage inter-company accounting flows, ensuring correct treatment of internal sales and purchase orders
Implement automation within Odoo to streamline invoice processing, tax reports, payroll, and reconciliation
Manage payroll: staff are paid weekly, but monthly payslips must be prepared and social security filed accordingly
Provide proactive forecasting and a clear tax/payment calendar to assist in cashflow planning
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience with Odoo accounting, including multi-company environments and payroll
Strong knowledge of Spanish tax laws, including IGIC, IVA, and Verifactu compliance
Comfortable working independently and proactively managing deadlines
Experience creating forecasts, payment schedules, and financial visibility reports for business owners
Strong communication skills in English (Spanish fluency preferred for compliance documents and system setup)
Preferred:
Experience with Odoo.sh and/or self-hosted Odoo deployments
Understanding of Canary Islands tax structure and ZEC entities
Background in accounting for retail, e-commerce, and service-based businesses
About Us:
We run several physical retail stores and service centers in the Canary Islands, along with growing e-commerce operations across Spain. Our businesses are expanding rapidly, and we need someone reliable and detail-oriented to manage the financial side so we can focus on growth.
This is a long-term, ongoing role. We're looking for someone who can operate as a true member of the team and not just a part-time bookkeeper.
