Install Odoo Community Edition on Oracle Cloud Free Tier & Connect to My Subdomain

Project Description

I am looking for an experienced Oracle Cloud and Odoo administrator to install and configure Odoo Community Edition on my Oracle Cloud Free Tier account.

The installation must remain within the Always Free resources provided by Oracle Cloud. The freelancer should optimize the server to ensure stable performance without incurring any charges.

Scope of Work

1. Oracle Cloud Setup

* Create and configure an Oracle Cloud Free Tier compute instance.
* Configure networking, security lists, firewall rules, and SSH access.
* Ensure the setup uses only Oracle Cloud Always Free resources.

2. Odoo Installation

* Install the latest stable Odoo Community Edition.
* Install and configure PostgreSQL.
* Configure Odoo as a system service so it starts automatically after reboot.
* Configure Nginx as a reverse proxy.
* Enable Gzip and basic performance optimization.

3. Domain & SSL

* Create and configure a subdomain (example: erp.mydomain.com).
* Connect the subdomain to the Oracle Cloud server.
* Install a free SSL certificate using Let’s Encrypt.
* Ensure Odoo is accessible securely via HTTPS.

4. Security

* Secure the Ubuntu server.
* Configure UFW firewall.
* Disable unnecessary services.
* Configure Fail2Ban (preferred).
* Change default ports if appropriate.

5. Final Testing

* Verify Odoo is fully operational.
* Verify HTTPS works correctly.
* Verify automatic startup after reboot.
* Confirm external access from the internet.

Deliverables

* Fully functional Odoo Community Edition installation.
* Working HTTPS URL (subdomain).
* Oracle Cloud Free Tier configuration.
* SSH login details documented.
* Odoo administrator login details.
* Short documentation explaining:
* Server IP
* SSH connection
* Odoo service restart commands
* Backup location (if configured)
* Renewal of SSL certificate

Requirements

The freelancer should have experience with:

* Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
* Ubuntu Linux
* Odoo Community Edition
* PostgreSQL
* Nginx
* Let’s Encrypt SSL
* DNS configuration

Important

* No paid Oracle Cloud resources should be used.
* The deployment must remain within Oracle Cloud Always Free Tier.
* The freelancer should inform me before enabling anything that may generate charges.
* All work must be performed on my Oracle Cloud account.
