Odoo Docker Deployment Audit & Guidance
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am running Odoo Community Edition on Docker (Ubuntu Server) and need an experienced Odoo DevOps Engineer/Consultant to conduct a comprehensive security and performance audit before migrating production data.
Scope of Work:
1. Full Infrastructure Review & Audit:
Docker-Compose configurations (containers, networks, volumes, security policies)
PostgreSQL performance tuning, access control, backup validation
Nginx reverse proxy with SSL/TLS setup and Let's Encrypt auto-renewal
Current backup strategy effectiveness and automation
Security hardening: firewall rules (UFW/iptables), file permissions, secrets management
Monitoring stack assessment (Prometheus/Grafana/Zabbix or alternatives)
2. Detailed Written Report:
Provide a comprehensive report including:
What is properly configured and secure
Security risks, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations
Exact commands and configuration changes to fix each issue
Reusable deployment checklist for future Odoo installations
Format: Markdown document or annotated Pull Request with inline comments.
3. Implementation (Optional):
Apply fixes directly (with my approval), OR
Guide me through implementation step-by-step
4. Live Advisory Session (30-45 minutes):
Via Zoom/Google Meet to cover:
Best practices for running Odoo on-premise (Docker)
Upgrade challenges and migration strategies
Automated backup strategies (local and off-site: S3, NFS, etc.)
Monitoring stack comparison with real-world recommendations
Daily/weekly/monthly maintenance checklist
Session recording preferred for future reference.
Deliverables (Acceptance Criteria):
Clean bill of health for PostgreSQL, Nginx/SSL, backups, and security (or documented fixes applied)
Reusable checklist for future Odoo deployments
Recorded advisory call covering maintenance, upgrades, and monitoring
What I Will Provide:
Full SSH access to the Ubuntu server
Current Docker-Compose files and configurations
Sudo privileges if required
Infrastructure details (expected user load, data volume, etc.)
Required Skills:
Odoo (Community/Enterprise deployment experience)
Docker & Docker-Compose (production-grade configurations)
PostgreSQL (tuning, security, backup/restore)
Nginx (reverse proxy, SSL/TLS, Let's Encrypt automation)
Linux security hardening (UFW, fail2ban, SSH hardening)
Backup automation (scripts, off-site storage)
Monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana, Zabbix, or alternatives)

Timeline:

Implementation (if needed): 1-2 days
Advisory Session: 30-45 minutes (scheduled at mutual convenience)
