Odoo Developer – Add File Upload Fields for Invoices & Documents
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m looking for an experienced Odoo developer (Python / XML / PostgreSQL) to add custom file upload fields to my existing Odoo instance.
The goal is to enable uploading invoices, delivery notes, transport documents, and other files (PDF, JPG, XLSX, DOCX, etc.) directly within records.
Tasks:
Create additional binary upload fields in existing Odoo models (e.g. purchase.order, account.move, stock.picking, or a custom model).
Modify the form view (via Odoo Studio or XML) so that these fields are visible and usable in the interface.
Ensure uploaded files are properly stored and can be opened or downloaded from the record.
(Optional) Implement a preview or download button for attached files.
Test functionality on the current Odoo version (please specify version).
Requirements / Skills:
Proven experience with Odoo development (v15–v18)
Strong knowledge of Python, XML, and optionally JavaScript (OWL framework)
Experience with Odoo Studio / custom module development
Familiarity with binary fields and file management in Odoo
Understanding of access rights and record rules for file attachments
Deliverables:
Fully functional upload fields integrated into the selected models
Short written or video guide explaining how to add more fields in the future
