Import Excel Categories to Odoo

I have an Excel spreadsheet that lists every POS category my store uses, including several levels of sub-categories. Each row already contains the category name and its Description field; there are no images or tags to worry about.

Your task is to move this hierarchy cleanly into my Odoo installation so that:
• The parent–child structure is preserved and visible in Odoo POS.
• The Description attribute is imported for every category.
• No duplicates are created and existing categories remain untouched unless we agree to overwrite them.

I’m open to whichever technique you prefer—Odoo’s native import wizard, a quick CSV conversion, or a short Python script that uses the ORM—so long as the end result is a ready-to-use category tree inside POS.

Once everything is in place, I’d like a brief note (or short Loom video) showing the steps you took, so I can repeat the process later if needed.
