Sending and receiving data from an iOS application to a DEX vending machine using the UCS/DEX protocol.
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I'm looking for a skilled developer who can help me establish a seamless data exchange between an iOS application and a DEX vending machine using the UCS/DEX protocol. The primary goal of this project is to simulate the interaction between the iOS application and the DEX vending machine via software tools, specifically, Baus System (StoreDEX server) and Honeywell DEXStorefront.
Key project details include:
- The project involves creating a simulation that accurately mimics the flow of data between the iOS application and the DEX vending machine.
- The simulation is required to be compatible with both Baus System (StoreDEX server) and Honeywell DEXStorefront.
- The use of the UCS/DEX protocol is crucial for this data exchange to be successful.
Ideal candidates for this project should have:
- Proficiency in iOS app development, with previous experience in data communication projects.
- Strong familiarity with the UCS/DEX protocol and its implementation in vending machines.
- Prior experience working with Baus System (StoreDEX server) and Honeywell DEXStorefront is a significant plus.
To simulate the connection to a vending machine, we are using a Redpark serial cable: https://redpark.com/dex-cable-ios-dsd-l2-dex-iphone-ipad/.
With this cable, I connect to a serial/USB adapter and simulate a vending machine to try sending invoices and receiving invoice adjustments in the applications.
Redpark provides an SDK(https://redpark.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/RedSerial-SDK-v1.0.9.zip) and demo software for sending and receiving data, which helps in understanding the basics.
In this post, we have attached the following:
- Document with detailed specifications.
- Photos of the hardware and software used for testing.
