Urdu Non-Fiction Editing Finalization
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am working on a serious, thought-driven Urdu non-fiction book focused on reviving the lost collective, educational, and civilizational role of the mosque. The book is grounded in Qur’an, Hadith, Seerah, Islamic history, and supported by modern intellectual and social frameworks.
I am looking for a professional Developmental Editor / Book Finalizer who can help bring this manuscript to its final, publication-ready form — structurally, intellectually, and stylistically — without rewriting or changing the author’s voice.
Scope of Work
Developmental editing of the manuscript
(structure, flow, argument progression, chapter coherence)
Preserve the original author voice and tone at all times
(no ghostwriting, no stylistic replacement)
Improve clarity and impact of long-form paragraphs
Strengthen chapter openings and conclusions
Identify repetition, gaps, or weak transitions
Shape the manuscript into a publish-ready book
This is not a basic proofreading or grammar-only job.
Required Qualifications
Full professional command of Urdu
Prior experience editing or finalizing at least one complete book
Familiarity with Islamic terminology, Qur’anic and Hadith referencing styles
Ability to work with ideological, reformative, and intellectual content
Collaborative mindset and respect for the author’s vision
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience with Islamic, social, or reform-oriented writing
Strong literary sense in Urdu prose
Interest in long-term collaboration
Project Details
Language: Urdu
Genre: Non-fiction / Ideological / Reformative
Workflow: Chapter-by-chapter
Duration: 2–3 months (flexible)
Budget: Open / negotiable, based on experience and quality
How to Apply (IMPORTANT)
Please include the following in your proposal:
Details of your book-level editing experience
A 2–3 page Urdu editing sample (before/after preferred)
A short explanation of how you approach developmental editing
How you ensure the author’s voice remains intact
Generic or copy-paste proposals will be automatically rejected.
Final Note
This is not just a freelance gig — it is a serious intellectual book project. If you value depth, clarity, and purpose-driven writing, I would be glad to hear from you.
