Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a non-fiction literary manuscript that needs to move from English into polished, natural-sounding Arabic while preserving the author’s tone and nuanced style. The text is formatted as a standard Word document; the final file should come back to me in the same layout, fully proofread and ready for publication.
Scope
• Full translation of the manuscript (approximately 40,000–50,000 words)
• Consistent terminology and reference handling throughout
• Light localisation of cultural references so they resonate with Arabic-speaking readers without losing the original intent
• Built-in proofreading—no separate reviewer required
Quality expectations
• Native-level Arabic with excellent command of Modern Standard Arabic
• Demonstrated experience translating literary non-fiction or memoir
• Ability to maintain narrative flow, rhetorical devices, and author voice
• Use of CAT tools such as Trados, MemoQ, or Wordfast is welcome if it helps maintain consistency, though not mandatory
• Confidentiality is essential; I will provide an NDA upon award
