Ubuntu Server Admin for Node.js
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have a Ubuntu server where I've installed Node.js (I believe latest version) and migrated my Node.js scripts from Windows. Unfortunately, the scripts are failing to run, probably due to file permission issues, charset issues with my MySQL database, perhaps node cant locate chromium to run or other reasons that I'm not aware of.
Your job as a server admin will involve:
- Troubleshooting the script failures: Identify the exact reasons why the scripts are failing to run on the Ubuntu server.
- Fixing file permissions: Ensure that the scripts have the necessary read, write, and execute permissions.
The ideal candidate for this job should have:
- Extensive experience with Ubuntu server administration and Node.js.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to file permissions on Linux-based servers.
- Familiarity with MySQL database charset issues and how they might impact Node.js scripts.
Please note that the scripts do not use any specific framework or libraries, so your knowledge of Node.js itself will be crucial.
These are legacy scripts so the php parsers I use to extract the html from the website and interacte with mysql is quite old and will not work with php engines except they are like 10 years old.
Possibly best solution would be to simply install lampp or xampp that is like 10 years old
No node js, php, javascript or scripting language should be required I believe. I think it only requires configuration of the server, charset, chromium etc etc
