Troubleshoot and Fix JSON Data Fetch Issue in Web Project
Description:
I am looking for a skilled web developer to help troubleshoot and fix an issue with my home renovation platform. The project involves fetching and displaying renovation options from a JSON file, but currently, the data is not being pulled through and displayed as expected.
Project Details:
Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Backend: Node.js (Express server for proxying requests)
Data File: renovations.json containing renovation options
Issue Description:
JSON Data Fetch: The renovation options are stored in a renovations.json file. The client-side JavaScript should fetch this data and display it based on user input (budget).
Error Handling: The console shows errors related to fetching the JSON file. The exact error messages include CORS policy issues and failed network requests.
Proxy Server: I have set up a Node.js proxy server to handle the fetch requests. However, the data is still not being displayed correctly on the frontend.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose the issue with fetching and displaying data from renovations.json.
Ensure the proxy server is correctly set up and functioning.
Modify the client-side JavaScript to correctly fetch and display the data.
Provide clear documentation on what was changed and why.
Requirements:
Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Familiarity with Node.js and Express.
Experience with troubleshooting CORS policy issues and fetch API.
Good communication skills to explain the problem and solution.
Additional Information:
You will have access to the project files and the current implementation.
I will be available to answer any questions and provide further details as needed.
