Summary
I’m looking for an experienced software developer to review and resolve issues in an existing tax software application. The goal is to identify current bugs, correct calculation or logic errors, and ensure the software functions reliably according to tax requirements.
The software is already built, and this task focuses on fixing and improving what’s currently in place—not building from scratch. Clear documentation and access to the existing codebase will be provided.
Responsibilities:
• Review the existing tax software codebase
• Identify and fix bugs or calculation errors
• Improve performance and stability where needed
• Ensure outputs align with defined tax rules and logic
• Communicate findings and changes clearly
Requirements:
• Strong experience in software debugging and maintenance
• Familiarity with tax-related logic or financial applications
• Ability to work with existing code and documentation
• Clear communication and structured problem-solving approach
GitHub - Source control
Key Features
Multi-portal architecture (9 portals via subdomains)
IRS MeF (Modernized e-File) integration
Role-based access control
MFA support for sensitive operations..............................................i am having trouble getting the forms to calculate and transfer to the appropriate forms for filing. i am also having a hard time keeping the diy portal completely seperate from the professional portal. Some of the forms aren't full forms. The interview says its complete and gives you a list of forms that will follow. Then the whole interview starts over. Nothing is saved. I also need the uploads to work and fill in the appropriate forms. My client portal needs to be able to pull into the professional portal
