Social Media Display & Moderation System
Budget: £5,000 – £10,000 GBP
Project Brief: Social Media Screen – Web-Based Solution
1. Project Overview
We are seeking a skilled developer or team to build the Social Media Screen — a dynamic, web-based display that showcases real-time, moderated social media content from Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Snapchat, and user-submitted posts via QR code.
The display will feature an animated "content cloud" that presents approved images, videos, and captions in real-time. A custom Content Management System (CMS) will allow for manual moderation before content appears on screen.
2. Key Functional Requirements
A. Social Media Integration
Connect with Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Snapchat APIs (OAuth authentication).
Pull content based on specific hashtags (e.g., #SlidieAdventures).
Aggregate images, videos, and captions from each post into the backend.
Route all pulled content into the CMS moderation queue.
B. Content Management System (CMS)
Manual moderation dashboard to review and approve/reject posts.
Clear display of each post with media preview, captions, timestamp, and (optionally) engagement data (likes, comments).
Moderation controls for:
Approve (automatically sends content to the live content cloud).
Reject (logs the reason for tracking).
Filtering options by:
Social platform
Most recent posts
Most engaged posts
Action log tracking all moderation decisions for transparency.
C. Animated Content Cloud Display
A dynamic display where approved posts float, slide, and bounce in an engaging "content cloud."
Built using frameworks such as Pixi.js or Three.js for fluid animations.
Real-time content updates: approved content appears within 5–10 seconds on the screen.
Prominence given to high-engagement posts (more likes/shares = larger or more prominent display).
3. Non-Functional Requirements
A. Performance
Must support smooth, high-performance animations and rapid content updates.
Optimized for large digital signage displays.
Scalable to handle large post volumes.
B. Security & Compliance
GDPR-compliant handling of any user data.
Secure API communications.
Only approved, moderated content appears on the display.
4. Technical Architecture Guidance
A. Backend
API integrations (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Snapchat).
WebSocket or Server-Sent Event (SSE) setup for real-time content delivery.
NoSQL database (MongoDB preferred) for storing post metadata and moderation records.
B. Frontend
CMS dashboard for moderation (desktop/mobile responsive).
Dynamic animated content cloud using Pixi.js or Three.js.
5. Deliverables
Fully functional Social Media Screen solution:
Back-end with API integrations & moderation logic.
Front-end CMS dashboard for moderation.
Animated real-time content cloud display.
Deployment and documentation.
6. Desired Skills
JavaScript, Node.js, and API development experience.
Experience with WebSockets/SSE for real-time applications.
Experience with MongoDB or equivalent NoSQL databases.
Strong front-end expertise (React/Vue preferred) and animation libraries (Pixi.js/Three.js).
UI/UX understanding for building clean, user-friendly moderation dashboards.
7. Next Steps
Please include in your proposal:
Relevant portfolio examples.
Estimated timeline.
Technology stack suggestion.
Any questions you have for us.
