Senior Node.js Engineer for eCommerce
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
We’re looking for a senior-level Node.js developer to join our team and contribute to a highly complex eCommerce platform built using a microservices architecture (multiple Node.js services communicating over HTTP and queues). This is not a beginner or intermediate role. We’re only interested in engineers who’ve been in the trenches, made mistakes, learned from them, and know how to ship scalable, maintainable software.
About the Project
- Enterprise-grade Node.js eCommerce platform
- Microservices architecture with multiple independently deployed services
- Communication via REST APIs
- MongoDB
About You
- You’ve been writing production-grade Node.js for 5+ years
- You understand microservices: service boundaries, service discovery, and inter-service communication
- You’ve worked with message queues, circuit breakers, retries, and know how to design for failure
- You are comfortable navigating and debugging a large codebase
- You get things done without babysitting or excuses
- You communicate clearly and concisely, especially in writing
Required Skills
- Node.js (Expert-level)
- Express.js / similar HTTP frameworks
- MongoDB (at scale)
- Message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar)
- RESTful APIs and internal SDKs
- Git and Git-based workflows
- Strong debugging and profiling skills
Who Should Not Apply
- If you’re just starting out or figuring out how Node.js works
- If you rely heavily on StackOverflow to debug simple problems
- If you ghost, disappear mid-project, or miss deadlines
- If you don’t care about code quality
Include the words "Hi Ralph" in your application to indicate if you've read the entire description. Please do not contact me outside the platform.
