Platform Consolidation
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
BACKGROUND
Veterans2Work is a 503(c) nonprofit with the mission of helping less advantaged veterans launch careers in the growth economy, without the need for a four-year college degree, through fast-track training-to-jobs programs and aptitude based job matching.
Our VetMatch™ aptitude-based job matching tool combines personality assessment with
predictive analytics to 1) help returning veterans identify best fit careers and qualify for jobs that match their interests and personalities; and 2) help employers identify and hire veterans most likely to succeed in a particular job based on aptitude. The VetMatch tool is expected to transform veteran hiring, dramatically expanding both job opportunities for veterans and the pool of qualified talent for employers.
PROJECT DELIVERABLES (these can be bid as separate projects):
● A single user interface for creating, accessing, updating account information; accessing ONET and Coursera applications, updating account records with ONET output (7 numerical values, via published APIs); activating Coursera account and updating account records with Coursera activity (3 fields) through published APIs
● Administration portal with lookup, filtering, reporting and email communications to individuals and groups.
● ONET and Coursera connectivity (via APIs) to enable above functionality
CURRENT ENVIRONMENT
● Salesforce (TO BE PHASED OUT) currently houses CRM functionality and data
● VetMatch application runs in node.js using Postgres on Heroku. Current technologies: HTML, javascript, CSS, EJS, PLpgSQL
● A “Success Profile” is created from the output of two sources: 1) VetMatch, our native personality survey, and 2) the ONET Interest Profiler, a U.S. Dep’t. of Labor application. ONET output (7 data values) is not currently associated with user accounts / Vetmatch data. These data are currently associated manually.
● Coursera is our learning platform. Course enrollments and progress are associated manually to user records.
FUTURE ENVIRONMENT
● All current functionality and data will be moved to new [node.js] platform;
● ONET application and data accessible from user account (via APIs);
● Administration.
● Coursera account activation and progress update using Coursera APIs, with UID as link to node.js
