NodeJS add an Email Varification Function

I have an application in NodeJS and PostgreSQL that has user login and registration. I need to implement a function that allows the generation of random codes and that these be sent by SMTP to the email of the registered user during account creation in order to avoid the entry of false emails. The application is already installed on a server in production with Ubuntu and AApanel. The task would be to create this function and connect the mail service with an SMTP server that I will provide through username and password.
