Node.js Website Troubleshooting and Verification

Not long ago, I purchased a pre-built Node.js website from a freelance developer. At the time of the transaction, everything appeared to be in order — the developer shared their screen to demonstrate the site running smoothly, and I was assured that it would work locally without any issues. I was provided with the full source code shortly after.
The following day, I attempted to launch the project on my own system, but it failed to start. I haven’t modified any files or settings. Unfortunately, the developer has since become unresponsive and I’m unable to get in touch.
As someone without much hands-on experience in Node.js, I’m looking for help to verify whether the project is actually functional and can run on a local environment. Specifically, I need someone who can:
Download and configure the project on their own machine
Install any required dependencies
Attempt to run the application and report any problems (e.g., error messages, missing modules, etc.)
If the project doesn’t run, provide a clear explanation of what’s wrong and possible ways to fix it
If the project runs, confirm that everything is working as expected and that the setup is correct
