Node.js Website Troubleshooting and Verification
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Recently, I purchased a pre-built website built with Node.js from a freelance developer. During our initial conversation, everything looked good — the developer shared their screen and walked me through the live project, which seemed to run perfectly. I was provided with all the source files and assured that it would work locally without any complications.
But when I attempted to run the project on my own machine the next day — without modifying any files — it failed to launch. I didn’t touch the code or change any settings. Unfortunately, the developer has since gone silent and can no longer be reached.
I'm not very familiar with Node.js and just need someone to verify whether the project is functional and can be run locally as promised. Here’s what I’m hoping you can help with:
Set up the project on your machine.
Install any dependencies it might require.
Try running it to see if any issues pop up (e.g., console errors, missing files or packages, etc.).
If there are problems, I’d appreciate a clear explanation of what’s wrong and how it might be fixed.
If everything runs fine, I’d love confirmation that the setup is correct and nothing's broken.
Please let me know if you can take this on — including a rough estimate of time and cost. Experience with debugging Node.js projects is a definite plus.
