Interactive Grafana Dashboard Development
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I'm in need of a highly skilled and experienced developer to create an interactive and extensible Grafana dashboard for monitoring and visualizing system performance.
Environment/Scope:
I am operating a series of "clusters" of application servers on AWS, GCP and MS Azure.
Each "cluster" consists of at least 4 Linux VMs ("nodes"). The "nodes" have different "roles" (LoadBalancer, Dispatcher, worker). Depending on the load/users, clusters may grow significantly beyond these initial 4 nodes per cluster.
The "nodes" run node-exporter and prometheus to send telemery into a hosted Grafana instance (Grafana Cloud)
Out of scope:
The "nodes" use Grafana promtail to send application-layer logs into a hosted Grafana Loki instance, which is not in scope of this project.
Key Requirements:
I need an extensible Grafana Dashboard with the following capabilities:
- Display an aggregated health overview of all nodes, sorted by clustername (which can be set in the prometheus configuration or a system-wide environment variable)
- Drill-down into clusters:
* Health status on all "nodes" of the cluster, based on their "role" (can also be set in config/environment)
- drill-down into individual "nodes" with presentation/visualization of:
+ CPU Load over time
+ Snapshots of the top 10 most CPU-hungry processes
+ Memory utilization over time(kernel/user-space)
+ Disk space over time
+ Network usage over time (MB/s)
+ Number of open connections over time
- Alerting if Host-level health parameters exceed definable warning thresholds (WARN-level and EMERGENCY-level)
Ideal Skills:
- Extensive experience with Grafana, including creating custom dashboards and integrating various data sources.
- Strong background in data visualization, particularly using line and bar charts.
- Proficiency in web development, as the dashboard should be interactive and user-friendly.
- Ability to create and implement dropdown menus, interactive charts, and clickable links in the Grafana interface.
Deliverables:
- Dashboard to be run on Grafana Cloud
- Alerting to be implemented on Grafana Cloud
- Prometheus (and other required) configuration files for the nodes must be provided
This project requires a proactive and creative approach to ensure the dashboard is not only visually appealing but also highly functional, providing valuable insights through the data visualizations and interactivity.
