Fix Node.js Argon2 Password Verification Issue
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a skilled Node.js developer to troubleshoot an issue I'm experiencing with password verification in my backend. The passwords are hashing and storing correctly but the verification process during login is failing. The Argon2's verify() method is always returning false, causing login failures.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience with Node.js
- Proficient in using Argon2 for password hashing
- Familiarity with JWT for user authentication
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose the issue
The successful candidate will have to:
- Review the current password verification process, which utilizes try-catch blocks and custom error messages
- Diagnose why the entered password and stored hash don't match
- Implement a solution to ensure that Argon2's verify() works as intended, allowing for successful logins
Please note that I'm currently using Argon2@0.41.1 with Node.js v20.12.2.
