Fix Down Node.js Site

Job ID: 39713817

Budget: $2 – $8 USD

Our small business site went offline yesterday and hasn’t come back since. Nothing loads at all—no pages, no errors in the browser, just a blank “site can’t be reached” message. Neither my partner nor I touched the code or server settings recently, so we’re puzzled about what broke.

What I do know:
• The backend runs on Node.js (hosted on a typical Linux VPS).
• Domain, SSL, and DNS were previously working fine.
• I don’t currently see any obvious error screen or stack trace—just total downtime.

What I need from you:
1. Remote investigation of the server, logs, and running processes to locate the root cause.
2. Repair whatever is preventing the Node.js service from starting or responding (dependency issues, crashed process, port conflict, expired certificate—whatever you discover).
3. A quick rundown of the fix so I understand what went wrong and how to avoid it next time.

SSH access, control-panel login, and any ENV files you might need can be provided once we agree to proceed. I’d like the site back online as soon as possible, so someone comfortable with Node.js, PM2/systemd, Nginx or Apache reverse proxies, and basic Linux sysadmin will be the best fit.

Please let me know your availability today and a rough estimate of how long the initial diagnostic might take.
