Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Firebase Cloud Functions developer to help us synchronise data across our Firestore collections. Our project involves managing ingredients, meals, plans, exercises, and workouts in a health and fitness application. The task requires setting up Firestore triggers to automatically update related collections when changes occur.
Requirements:
1. Ingredient Updates:
• When an ingredient is updated, search the meals and plans collections for instances where the ingredient is used.
• Update these collections to reflect the new ingredient data, as they contain copies of the ingredient.
2. Meal Updates:
• When a meal is updated, search the plans collection for instances where the meal is used.
• Update the plans with the new meal data.
3. Exercise Updates:
• When an exercise is updated, search the workouts collection for instances where the exercise is used.
• Update the workouts with the new exercise data.
4. Workout Updates:
• When a workout is updated, search the plans collection for instances where the workout is used.
• Update the plans with the new workout data.
Technical Requirements:
• Proficient in Firebase Cloud Functions and Firestore triggers.
• Experience with JavaScript/Node.js.
• Ability to efficiently query Firestore collections and update documents.
• Understanding of Firestore data structure and best practices for scalable data management.
Deliverables:
• Fully implemented Firebase Cloud Functions for the specified triggers.
• Documentation on how the functions are structured and how they can be tested or modified.
• Basic testing and validation of the functions to ensure they work as expected
