Enhance QuantX – Financial Toolbox App
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
What the App Is:
QuantX is designed to be a financial toolbox for users—allowing them to:
Input and analyze custom portfolios
Use calculators like DCF, ROI, and valuation tools
Fetch market data from APIs (currently using Finhub)
The current version was built in Replit but has a poorly structured backend and many unfinished features. The UI is functional but lacks polish and complete integration with backend logic.
Key Problems You’ll Need to Fix:
Backend Overhaul
Clean up or rewrite the backend (Node.js, TypeScript)
Break logic into controllers, routes, and services
Add error handling and proper dotenv key management
Proxy API requests securely through the backend
Finhub API Limitation
Currently fetches data for only about 25 companies
I need the ability to:
Fetch data for more companies
Allow users to search tickers dynamically
Paginate or filter large datasets
Portfolio Analyzer (Must-Have)
Users should be able to:
Input stock tickers and weights or amounts
Generate a full portfolio analysis (return, risk, Sharpe ratio, diversification)
View charts (pie, risk-return, etc.)
Get summary outputs (possibly downloadable or shown in a dashboard)
I have built a basic example and can share a report for reference
Financial Tools Must Work
All tools in the app (DCF, ROI, Black-Scholes, etc.) must be fully functional
Backend logic or formula corrections may be needed
Open to suggestions on additional tool enhancements
Frontend Fixes
Use Tailwind to clean up the design
Add responsive layout, loader/error states, and proper navigation
Charts for analytics (Chart.js or Recharts)
Improve overall UI/UX and ensure mobile responsiveness
Deployment Setup
Frontend: Deploy via Vercel or Netlify
Backend: Deploy via Railway, Render, or Fly.io
Add:
.env.example
README.md with setup and deployment instructions
Proper CORS configuration for frontend-backend integration
I Will Provide:
The full project zip (QuantX.zip)
My portfolio analysis report for backend logic reference (upon request)
Finhub API keys or new ones if you recommend an alternative
Deliverables:
Fully working and deployed QuantX site
Clean, documented codebase
All core tools functional
User portfolio input and analysis system
Clear instructions to maintain and update the app
This project is important to me, and I want it built with long-term structure and clean implementation. If you believe you can take QuantX to the next level, I’d be glad to work with you.
Let me know your availability, questions, or if you’d like access to the current build.
