Build Offline R&D Experiment Management Software

with spreadsheets and paper, but we need a modern solution that is easier to use, ensures compliance, and keeps everything traceable.

The software will help us manage:
• Products → Routes → Reaction Steps → Experiments
• Running experiments with timers, observations, and analysis results (like HPLC/GC).
• Role-based access (Chemist, Analyst, Manager, Admin).
• Experiment Copy & Print features (with user, timestamp, experiment code).
• Literature & reports (with OCR for scanned documents).
• Dashboards showing progress, pending tasks, and bottlenecks.

Important: This must run offline only (air-gapped, no internet) for data safety.

What We Need

We want a team (or skilled freelancers) who can:
• Design a clean and easy-to-use interface (web app, responsive).
• Build a secure backend to store experiments, routes, results, and logs.
• Add Copy & Print functions for experiments with metadata.
• Integrate OCR to search scientific papers and reports.
• Add simple AI tools (offline) for search and experiment suggestions.
• Ensure full compliance & traceability (audit logs, soft deletes, backups).

Skills We’re Looking For
• Frontend: React / TypeScript (or similar modern framework).
• Backend: Node.js (NestJS) or Python (FastAPI) with PostgreSQL.
• UI/UX design (lab-friendly, role-based dashboards).
• DevOps: Offline deployment, Docker, backups.
• AI/ML (offline LLM integration, OCR, search).
