Backend Engineer for Structured Node.js API Architecture

Job ID: 39370215

Budget: €1,000 – €2,000 EUR

I'm looking for a skilled backend engineer to develop the backend and admin interface for a mobile content monetization platform.

Important:
This is a backend-only role. I'm not looking for a frontend developer, full-stack team, or agency.

What I’m Looking For
An individual backend developer (no teams, no agencies) with solid experience in Node.js (Express or NestJS preferred). You should be comfortable working independently and writing clean, secure backend logic. Experience with payment workflows, wallet systems, user role management, and analytics is important. Familiarity with Forest Admin, UI Bakery, or a similar admin tool is expected.

Responsibilities
Backend (Node.js):
You will build a secure REST API for a Flutter mobile app. This includes internal wallet logic (credit/debit, multi-currency), payout handling via Stripe and/or PayPal, media upload management using Amazon S3, and PDF invoice generation. You’ll also implement an affiliate/referral system (master/slave), dispute and support ticket logic, JWT-based authentication, a role-based access system, and database handling using either PostgreSQL or MongoDB.

Admin Panel (Forest Admin or similar):
The admin interface should include user profile views (wallet, login/IP/device history, risk score), a transaction breakdown (fees, payouts, affiliate commissions), media moderation tools (flag/delete/suspend), dispute and support ticket handling, tagging for users and content (e.g. VIP, Flagged), bulk actions (suspend/export/tag), an analytics dashboard (sales, refunds, affiliate spend), and settings for PSP routing per currency.

Data Migration Scope
As part of the backend setup, you’ll handle data migration from an existing Laravel + MySQL system.

What needs to be migrated:

Users: Login credentials, profile information, wallet balances

Media: Existing S3 file URLs mapped to the correct users

Affiliate Data: Existing referral relationships (master <-> slave structure)

Note: There is no need to re-upload content. S3 media links should be preserved and correctly mapped to the new database schema.

Expectations
Clean, modular Node.js code

Role-based access and validation

Encrypted credentials for PSP/API keys

Well-documented APIs (Swagger or Postman)
