Backend Engineer (Node.js) – API Development
Budget: €1,000 – €2,000 EUR
I am building a mobile-first backend service for managing digital media content, user payments, and platform moderation. The backend will be hosted on Supabase, and the admin interface will be built using Forest Admin to speed up development and provide a powerful out-of-the-box admin tool.
Important:
This is a backend-only role, for individual freelancers only. No teams, no agencies.
What I’m Looking For:
An experienced Node.js backend developer (solo freelancer)
Proficient with Express or NestJS
Able to work independently and write secure, maintainable backend logic
Comfortable with:
Payment and wallet systems
Role-based access control
Cloud storage integration (S3)
PDF generation
Data relationships and migrations
Admin panel logic (via Forest Admin or similar)
Responsibilities
Backend (Node.js, hosted on Supabase):
Build a secure REST API for a Flutter-based mobile application
Implement wallet functionality (credit/debit, multi-currency support)
Integrate Stripe and/or PayPal for payouts
Manage media uploads using Amazon S3
Generate invoices as PDFs
Create and manage referral structures (master/slave logic)
Develop support ticket and dispute resolution logic
JWT-based authentication
Role-based access with permission layers
PostgreSQL (via Supabase)
Admin Panel (Forest Admin):
Manage and view user profiles, including:
Wallet balance
Login/IP/device history
Risk scoring (can be integrated via tags or calculated fields)
Transaction overview with fee breakdowns, affiliate earnings, and payout dat
Moderate user-uploaded media (flag, delete, suspend status)
Handle support tickets and disputes
Tag users and content (e.g. “VIP”, “Flagged”)
Perform bulk actions (e.g. suspend accounts, export data, apply tags)
View analytics via custom dashboards or smart segments (sales, refunds, affiliate metrics)
Configure PSP routing rules using per-currency tagging or config collections
NOTE: All listed admin panel features are compatible with Forest Admin via smart views, custom actions, segments, and relationships.
Data Migration (from existing Laravel + MySQL system):
You will also handle migration of legacy data:
Users: login credentials, profiles, wallet balances
Media: existing S3 URLs mapped correctly to users
Affiliate relationships: preserve master/slave links
Media content is already stored on S3 and will not be re-uploaded — only mapped in the new database.
Requirements:
Clean, modular code using Express or NestJS
API documentation (Swagger or Postman)
Role and permission-based access control
Secure storage of sensitive credentials (e.g. PSP keys)
Familiarity with Supabase and its PostgreSQL setup
To Apply:
Please confirm the following in your proposal:
That you are an individual backend developer
Your tech stack and relevant experience with Node.js
Your experience with Forest Admin (or similar tools)
Links or descriptions of relevant backend/payment/admin work
Your availability and estimated timeline
