configure nginx

I have a code using htaccess and php that enables me to create hundreds of different pages from on index page. However, I have a new host who uses Nginx for Magento. It works really well. However, htaccess does not work with it. I have another domain name with nginx and magento and the code the host wrote works fine. However, the new host is in a different country and a newer version of Magento. So, I have all the codes used. ie htaccess, and the nginx code which works on the previous host.
I need someone who understands this code and be able to add it to the configuration of the new nginx website
