Domain Load Balancer & domain proxy pass
Budget: $10 – $60 USD
I'm planning to enhance the scalability and availability of my multiple domains by implementing a software-based load balancer. The primary goal for this setup is to effectively and evenly distribute traffic across my various VPSs and shared hosts.
I want the load balancer to be free or cheap per month. I think be nice if you would recommend cheap web hosts that automatically scale up and down based on demand and maybe turn off when server is not in use.
But goal of this project is to setup a small load balancer and using cloud fare to set all traffic to load balancer and distribute to my different shared and vps hosts. I would like my load balancer to connect to one of my vps for proxy pass.
Key requirements and considerations:
We will either use HA Proxy or Nginx for this load balancer.
Least Connection Algorithm (Is this a good idea to use or not ?)
* Configure cloud fare for domains to go to load balancer
* Use SSL / TLS termination
* Use fail over (Keep Alive) and LVS
* Use Session Persistence
* Redirect traffic for each domain / subdomain to different vps and shared web hosts.
* Balancing Traffic where the load balancer should be able to analyze and distribute incoming traffic to different servers that I specify. I will not have same site on many servers. Were small company with less than 5 servers and we dont got much traffic. The load balancer will have set IP / vps or shared servers that each domains will go to everytime, and will only route domains to other domains if target server is down or busy.
* Do a proxy pass for (one) sub domain to another vps server for a docker node.js app running on port 3000
* Have health checks, if a server for a domain is over loaded or goes down. Temporary direct domain to other domains / server on the load balancer.
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proficiency in designing and implementing load balancer solutions
- Familiarity with various software-based load balancer options
- Experience in working with Cloudflare or similar CDN services
- Knowledge of best practices in scalability and high availability
- Strong communication skills to advise and guide me on the best options for this setup
Please feel free to suggest any additional features or configurations that you believe would be beneficial for this project.
