Senior Next.js / TypeScript Developer — AI SaaS Platform (Ongoing)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
I am the founder and sole developer of ChairOS — an AI-powered business operating system for independent hair stylists and beauty professionals, built on top of a premium rent-a-chair salon in Northbridge, Perth WA.
The platform is live and in active development. I am looking for one experienced developer to work alongside me on an ongoing basis — not an agency, not a team, one person who can go deep on a complex codebase and take ownership of isolated tasks.

What I need help with

UI polish and component refinement across member and admin areas
Mobile layout fixes and improvements
Implementing design changes from detailed written specifications
Working within our existing design system without breaking it
Isolated feature additions following strict platform rules
Performance improvements and code quality

Platform rules you must follow without exception

No emoji or icons anywhere in the UI — text only
No hardcoded hex values — CSS token variables only
All AI features are draft only — no auto-send, auto-publish, or auto-book
No PII in AI prompts
No raw errors returned to client
Admin accounts bypass all feature gates
All modals and drawers centred
No full-width buttons except specific defined cases
Mobile first on everything

How I work
I write detailed Cursor AI prompts for implementation. You will receive clear written specifications for every task. You work in a dedicated branch, open a PR, and I review before anything merges to main. Communication is async — I work offshore on rotating shifts.
I am not looking for someone to take over the build. I am looking for a skilled developer who can execute precisely, ask good questions, and integrate cleanly into an existing complex codebase.
You must have

Minimum 3 years professional Next.js and TypeScript experience
Strong Supabase experience including RLS policies and auth flows
Experience working inside large existing codebases — not just greenfield builds
Clean, readable code with proper TypeScript types — no any
Experience with CSS custom properties and design token systems
Ability to work from written specifications without needing hand-holding
Git discipline — branches, clean commits, no force pushes to main
Strong written English for async communication

Nice to have

Experience with Anthropic Claude API or other LLM integrations
SaaS multi-tenant architecture experience
Vercel deployment experience
PostHog or similar analytics integration experience

Engagement
This starts as a trial task — one small isolated UI improvement. If you execute it cleanly and communicate well, this becomes ongoing part-time work with increasing responsibility over time.
I am based in Perth WA. Remote is fine. Timezone flexibility preferred but not essential given async nature of work.
