React-Next Social Network Build
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I’m putting together a full-stack social networking platform and I’m looking for someone who can own both the React / Next.js front-end and the Node.js + MySQL back-end.
Core features I need implemented right away are:
• User profiles with editable bios and avatars
• Real-time or near-real-time direct messaging between members
• A scrolling news feed where users can publish posts, react to them, and share media
• Group creation, membership management, and group-specific feeds
Authentication will be classic email-and-password, handled securely with hashed passwords and token-based sessions.
The stack is set:
– Front-end: React 18 with Next.js (SSR and API routes)
– Back-end: Express or Fastify in Node.js
– Database: MySQL (please structure migrations and seed data)
– Bonus: If you can wire up Elastic Search for fast post & user search, that will carry extra weight.
Deliverables (at minimum)
1. Fully functioning front-end pages and reusable components in Next.js.
2. REST (or GraphQL) API endpoints with proper validation and error handling.
3. MySQL schema, migration scripts, and seed data covering users, posts, groups, and messages.
4. Clear documentation on local setup, environment variables, and build/deploy steps.
5. Git-based progress commits and a short demo video or staging link showing everything working together.
