React Architect for AI-Powered Product Juliet
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We're looking for a seasoned React Architect and Engineer to solve critical performance and state management bugs for our AI-powered product, Juliet, ahead of our MVP launch. We aren't looking for a quick patch; we need an expert who can diagnose the root cause of complex issues (memory leaks, state rehydration failures) and implement robust, architectural solutions. If you excel at turning buggy, complex systems into clean, scalable foundations, this is the role for you.
The Challenge:
Our Next.js 15 / React 19 application is powerful but suffers from critical pre-launch issues, including a significant memory leak and state persistence bugs on refresh. We need a top-tier expert to come in, take ownership of these problems, and architect a permanent fix that will serve as a stable foundation for our future growth.
Your Responsibilities:
• Lead the effort to diagnose and resolve complex frontend bugs, moving beyond symptoms to fix the core architectural flaws.
• Own the performance profiling process, using tools like Chrome DevTools to hunt down memory leaks and rendering bottlenecks at their source.
• Architect and implement a robust state management and hydration strategy that eliminates refresh-related bugs and ensures a seamless user experience.
• Establish best practices by implementing foundational code patterns that the rest of our team can build upon, preventing future regressions.
• Collaborate with our founding team, providing clear insights into the problems and your proposed solutions.
Who We're Looking For:
• A True Architect: You think in terms of systems, not just components. You have proven experience designing and building scalable frontend architectures.
• A Master Debugger: You have a demonstrable track record of solving vague or complex performance and memory issues in large-scale React applications.
• An Independent Owner: You operate like a temporary technical lead. You can take a high-level problem, define the solution, and execute on it with minimal hand-holding.
• Expert-level in React & Next.js: Deep, nuanced understanding of the Next.js App Router, advanced React patterns, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Modern State Management: Familiarity with the principles of modern state libraries (e.g., Zustand, Jotai, Nanostores) is a major plus.
How to Apply:
To show you've read this, please start your proposal with "Juliet Architect".
In your proposal, please briefly describe the most challenging performance issue or architectural flaw you have diagnosed and fixed in a React application. We are very interested in your process for identifying the root cause.
We are looking to move extremely quickly on this. We believe the right expert can solve our core issues in a focused, two-week sprint.
