NextJs Forum
Budget: €750 – €1,500 EUR
I'm seeking expertise to develop a comprehensive forum that focuses on the core functionalities of post and comment interactions without the need for design elements. This project will be segmented into four key parts: the Frontend, Backend, API, and the Database setup. With a distinct structure, our goal is to create a user-friendly platform for dialogue and collaboration.

Backend and Frontend has to be 2 separate Parts
All parts with .env files for development / production
No need to make any Translation, only prepare this, we take any further actions
Delivery has to be all source codes without node_modules folder in zip files for each part
No styles at all, no inline styles. If you need to do, include one CSS file
You are not allowed to include third party libraries without permissions
**Frontend Requirements:**
- Online List with counting Users / overall Users
- No Attachments, No Links ( not even Textual ), no Smileys, no private Messaging
- Avatar is external, please use example image
- Signature comes from external
- Forum is Public, Posts only ba logged in Users
- Translatable with next intl ( Basic Language: English, second German )
- NextJS Base
- Search function
- Enable users to create and edit posts with ease.
- Develop a commenting system where users can engage with each other's posts.
- Sanitize Input of users, maxlength, minlength with yup
- Buttons for Delete, Edit, Lock ( only for Moderators )
- Answer Button for Users
- Pagination for the Threads
- Categories based
- write basic Cypress E2E Tests for actions ( Success and Error )
- only one level deep ( only answers in thread, no sub threads )
- Url structure: [Basic Url] / [language Code] / [Categorie ID: numeric ] / [Thread ID: numeric ] / [paged Id: numeric]
**Backend Specifications:**
- Translatable with next intl ( Basic Language: English, second German )
- NextJS Base
- Implement post management functionalities to allow for smooth operation and control over the content.
- create/delete/ update Categories
- Establish a comment management system to oversee interactions and maintain a constructive environment.
- Create Threads, close Threads, Manage Posts, select Colors for each categorie, Move Threads, Stick Thread, Lock Thread,
- Moderate Threads that contains specific bad Words ( create Settings Section to insert such words )
- Settings: Forum Name, Multiple prepared Options ( Select, Input, checkbox ) prepared for further usage
- Limit users to X Posts per day

- Ban Users by multiple times / forever
- Warn Users for bad things
- write basic Cypress E2E Tests for actions ( Success and Error )
**API Needs:**
- NodeJS Based with express and prisma
- Design an API that supports user authentication, ensuring secure access and control.
- Facilitate post and comment retrieval and creation through the API to maintain a dynamic and interactive forum experience.
- The User Data with Authentication and Authorization works on another API with JWT, please create Fake Endpoints for this
- Endpoints has te be described with swagger inline docs
- Inform Users on Mentions / Answers to their Post by Mail ( create Fake Endpoint for this )
- Url structure for API:
– [API Url] / v1 / topic / endpoint /
- write basic Cypress E2E Test for each Endpoint ( Success and Error )
**Database Integration:**
- Userids are in uuid4 format
- Utilize MariaDB for database management, focusing on efficiency and scalability.
- The database should support the aforementioned functionalities without compromise.

- Proficiency in React/NextJS for frontend development.
- Experience with NodeJS (Express, Prisma) for backend operations.
- Familiarity with MariaDB or similar database management systems.
- Strong understanding of API development.
- Previous projects involving forum or community-building platforms is a plus.
