Next.js Performance Optimization Specialist

I need an experienced Next.js engineer who can dive straight into live, customer-facing applications and make them faster, leaner, and more reliable. The stack you will touch is almost entirely front-end; our backend services are already in place, so your day-to-day focus stays inside the Next.js layer—React components, API routes, SSR logic, and the build pipeline.

What the first weeks look like
• Audit the current codebase, Lighthouse scores, bundle sizes, and server-side rendering path
• Prioritise quick wins, then implement deeper refactors that cut load times, improve Core Web Vitals, and harden caching strategies
• Document every meaningful change so the rest of the team can follow your optimisations

Work cadence
• 100 % remote but you must overlap New York hours: 6 AM – 3 PM EST, Monday–Friday
• Start immediately; we want to see the first measurable performance gains within days, not weeks
