Next.js & Node Full-Stack Build

Job ID: 39804819

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I’m building a production-ready web application and need an engineer who can own both sides of the stack. The user-facing layer will be written in Next.js (leveraging its server components, routing, and SEO perks), while the backend will run on a Node.js service that exposes a clean REST or GraphQL API—whichever proves most efficient once requirements are refined together.

Here’s the shape of the work ahead:
• Stand up the initial Next.js project, configure TypeScript, ESLint, and a component library of your choice so we have a solid, maintainable UI foundation.
• Design and implement the Node.js backend, including database models, authentication, and role-based access control. I’m flexible on the specific ORM (Prisma, Sequelize, or similar) as long as migrations and seed data are straightforward.
• Connect the two layers with well-documented endpoints and integrate basic testing (Jest or Vitest) to keep quality tight from day one.
• Containerise everything for local development with Docker, then set up CI/CD so each commit automatically deploys to our staging environment (I currently use Vercel for the frontend and would welcome your suggestion for the backend host if you have a favourite).
• Finish with a concise README that lets any new developer get the stack running in minutes.

Acceptance criteria will be a fully functional, lint-clean repo that deploys without manual tweaks and passes the agreed unit and integration tests. If you have recent Next.js + Node projects that highlight similar tasks, I’d love to see them when you respond.
