# AI Chat Application - Freelance Project
## Project Overview
I'm looking for a skilled developer to build a ChatGPT-like web application using modern frontend and backend technologies. This project will include a clean user interface similar to ChatGPT with chat history, user profile, and simple AI responses.
## Technical Requirements
### Frontend (Next.js)
- **Framework**: Next.js 15 with App Router and TypeScript
- **UI Components**: Shadcn UI, Radix UI with Tailwind CSS
- **Layout**:
- Left sidebar with chat history list
- Main chat window in the center
- User profile in bottom left corner
- Logo in top left corner
- **Responsiveness**: Mobile-first design approach
- **State Management**: React Query for data fetching, URL state management with nuqs
### Backend (Supabase + Simple API)
- **Database/Auth**: Supabase for user authentication and data storage
- **Data Model**:
- Users table
- Dialogs (conversations) table
- Messages table
- Anonymous sessions table (allowing 3 questions before requiring signup)
- **API**: Create a simple dummy backend that responds with "Here is the backend response + [current time] we will update it later"
- **Authentication**: JWT via Supabase, support both anonymous and registered users
## Must-Have Features
1. **User Authentication**:
- Anonymous browsing (limited to 3 questions)
- Email signup/login
- Session management
2. **Chat Interface**:
- Create new chat
- View chat history
- Send messages and receive dummy responses
- Basic markdown support in messages
3. **User Profile**:
- Simple profile section in bottom left
- Account management (view email, delete account)
4. **Responsive Design**:
- Works well on mobile and desktop devices
## Nice-to-Have Features
- Light/dark mode toggle
- Message search functionality
- Ability to rename conversations
- Basic settings page
## Technical Implementation Guidelines
- Follow functional, declarative coding style
- Server Components where possible, minimal client components
- Proper error and loading states
- Secure implementation of Supabase auth
## Deliverables
1. Complete source code hosted in a Git repository
2. Deployment instructions and environment setup guide
3. Basic documentation for the project structure
