Full-Stack Law Firm System Development
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m building an end-to-end Law Firm Management System and need a senior full-stack partner who can steer both architecture and hands-on coding with Node.js, Next.js, Express.js and MySQL.
Scope of the platform
The application will cover every daily workflow in our practice: robust case management, time tracking with integrated billing, and a role-based admin panel that ties it all together. Clients, attorneys, and staff will each have dedicated portals (web first, with a mobile-friendly interface) connected to a shared CMS and document repository. A scheduling calendar rounds out the core.
Key feature highlights
• Case Management – document storage, court-date scheduling, and threaded case notes must feel seamless and fast.
• Client Portal – clients should log in to view live case updates, pull down approved documents, and chat securely with their attorney.
• Attorney & Staff Portals – time entries push directly into billing, while matter data remains searchable and filterable.
• Admin Console – granular roles/permissions, content blocks managed via a lightweight CMS.
• Common services – unified authentication, audit trail, notifications, and fully indexed document management.
How we’ll work
You’ll take ownership from database schema design and API layer to React components rendered with Next.js (SSR/ISR where it makes sense). I expect clean, well-commented code, automated tests, and CI/CD hooks so deployments stay painless. We’ll iterate in weekly sprints; aside from high-level guidance, you’re trusted to move independently.
Deliverables
1. Initial architecture diagram and tech stack decisions signed off.
2. Functional MVP containing the modules above, wired to MySQL with migrations.
3. REST/GraphQL endpoints documented in OpenAPI/Swagger.
4. Responsive frontend in Next.js, hooked to our design tokens.
5. Test suite (unit + integration) and deploy scripts for staging and production.
6. Installation & developer docs that let a new engineer boot the project in minutes.
Acceptance criteria will be reviewed at the end of each sprint; code must hit agreed performance and security benchmarks before merge.
