Develop Advanced Budgeting Web App “Money Agent”
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Project: Build out my “Money Agent” budgeting web app.
What I have so far: A working Next.js/TypeScript web app with Plaid integration (sandbox), budget suggestions, recurring bill detection, alerts, and couple/household support.
End goal: I want this to work like the EveryDollar app but better and automated:
• Detects bills, essentials, and subscriptions automatically
• Shows me how much extra money I have each month
• Lets me adjust a slider to decide where all the extra money goes (like some to fun money, put extra towards bills, move some to savings, pay more on debt, etc)
• Has simple “baby-steps style” goals (like emergency fund, debt snowball, savings) that users can confirm or skip
• Couples mode where shared bills/goals are joint, but each person has their own fun money
• Sends push notifications even if it’s a web app (due bills, plan ready, milestones)
• First-time tutorial that explains how it works
• Subscription paywall at $7.99/month after a free trial (my admin account should stay free)
Phase 2
Add automatic transfers so the app can move money between accounts for the user to make sure there’s money in bills account for bills and move money towards goals and move funds money where needed, etc. based on users choices.
Deliverables I expect: A finished web app I can run/deploy, a short walkthrough video showing it working, and a README that explains how to run it locally and in production.
