Project Overview We are seeking a QA Specialist to perform end-to-end (E2E) manual and automated testing for a web-based Business Management System (BMS) built for a manufacturing firm. The platform handles job management, drawing approvals, purchase order versioning, automated PDF generation, and third-party integrations.
Scope of Work & Technical Stack
Application Stack: Next.js (Frontend), Java Spring Boot (Backend), PostgreSQL, NextAuth.js.
Integrations to Test:
Quotient API: Webhook payloads, idempotency, failure/outage handling.
Microsoft Graph API (SharePoint): Dynamic folder creation, file uploads (drawings, cut files, photos), sync indicators.
Transactional Email: Automated status-based email triggers via SMTP2Go.
Core Workflows:
RBAC & Security: Testing 4 user roles (Director, Project Owner, Draftsman, Workshop), audit logging, CSRF/XSS, and API rate-limiting.
Document & PDF Workflows: Verification of dynamic Job Card & LOC PDF generation and in-browser preview.
State Machine & Status Tracking: Automated triggers across multi-stage job statuses.
Responsive UI: Desktop, tablet, and mobile web views.
Testing Approach & Expected Tools
API & Webhook Testing: Use tools like Postman / Newman or REST Assured to validate Spring Boot endpoints and mock webhook payloads.
E2E UI Automation: Build regression test scripts using modern frameworks (Playwright or Cypress preferred).
PDF & Document Verification: Automated/manual validation of generated PDF layouts and text contents.
Manual & Exploratory QA: Cross-browser testing, mobile responsiveness, and UAT support.
Key Responsibilities
Draft comprehensive test strategy, test plans, and executable test cases.
Build automated regression suites for core API endpoints and UI user flows.
Verify webhooks, third-party API payloads, and state machine email/document triggers.
Report bugs with clear reproduction steps, environment details, and logs; re-verify fixes.
Requirements & Screening Questions
Experience: 3+ years in hybrid QA (Manual + E2E Automation).
Required Skills: Postman/REST Assured (API), Playwright/Cypress (UI), Java/JavaScript, Git.
Screening Questions (Must Answer in Proposal):
How do you test webhook idempotency and handle simulated external service outages (e.g., Quotient/SharePoint API)?
Which tools or scripts do you use to validate programmatically generated PDFs?
