We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Specialist/Penetration Tester to conduct a comprehensive security assessment and hardening plan for a target network (can be a simulated/test environment or a specific corporate scope, to be defined). The primary goal is to identify all discoverable vulnerabilities, analyze the risk severity, and deliver an actionable plan to mitigate all identified weaknesses.
We require a proven track record using industry-standard tools and a professional, detailed reporting methodology.
Scope of Work (Key Deliverables)
The successful freelancer will be required to deliver the following comprehensive outputs:
Network Mapping and Host Discovery:
A detailed map of the target network, identifying all active hosts, running services, and open ports.
Tools required: Nmap.
Vulnerability Scanning Report:
A comprehensive, tool-generated report detailing discovered vulnerabilities (e.g., misconfigurations, outdated software, default credentials).
Tools required: Nessus, OpenVAS, or equivalent industry-standard scanner.
Risk Analysis and Prioritization:
A clear, executive summary and detailed breakdown of findings categorized by seveEssential Skills & Experience Required
Vulnerability Scanning Tools: Expert proficiency with Nmap, Nessus, OpenVAS, or equivalent.
Network Security Principles: Strong knowledge of common network protocols, architectures, and attack vectors.
Risk Assessment: Proven ability to accurately score and prioritize risks using CVSS.
Documentation: Exceptional reporting and documentation skills (clear, concise, and professional).
Remediation & Hardening: Experience providing practical, implementable solutions for system and network hardening.rity (Critical, High, Medium, and Low).
Each vulnerability must include its corresponding CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System) Score.
