MikroTik PPPoE Server Configuration
Budget: ₹1,250 – ₹2,500 INR
I have a MikroTik router board that must start handling PPPoE subscribers behind an OLT, with clean routing, switching and VLAN separation. The board is already running RouterOS; what I need is a solid PPPoE server configuration built to production standards.
Here is the scope in plain terms: the router must accept VLAN-tagged hand-off from the OLT, terminate PPPoE sessions, hand out dynamic IP addresses, apply speed limits per profile, and keep throughput high under load. I also want the routing table and bridge ports organised so future VLANs can be added without a redesign.
Deliverables
• Export file (.rsc) containing the final configuration
• Brief step-by-step notes so I understand how to add new PPPoE profiles or VLANs
• Quick verification session (SSH or WinBox screen-share) to prove subscribers can connect and pass traffic
Acceptance criteria
• At least one test client authenticates, receives the correct bandwidth limit and reaches the internet
• CPU usage stays within normal limits while running a 100 Mbps speed test
• No packet loss between the OLT uplink and the router’s WAN interface during the test
