Hotel WiFi & IP Camera Setup

Job ID: 39785138

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I need a robust, enterprise-grade WiFi network for a small hotel, paired with IP security cameras on the same backbone. Coverage must reach every guest room as well as our outdoor spaces garden paths, pool deck, and parking bays so guests stay connected and key areas remain under surveillance. If you can also extend signal into the lobby or hallways later, great; the immediate priority is rooms and outside zones.

Scope of work
• Design and document the architecture: access-point placement for at least eleven zones, recommended switches (PoE where appropriate), and controller/firewall topology.
• Configure the network: SSIDs for guests and staff, VLAN isolation, and security protocols up to WPA3 with WPA2 fallback.
• Integrate network-enabled IP cameras, adding the correct port-forwarding, QoS, and firewall rules to keep video traffic secure without starving guest bandwidth.
• Perform a site survey (remote heat-map planning is fine if you guide our on-site staff) and fine-tune signal strength and channel planning to eliminate dead spots.
• Deliver clear hand-over documentation and a brief training session so my team can manage day-to-day tasks.

Acceptance criteria
• Seamless roaming throughout rooms and outdoor areas with ‑65 dBm or better signal and ≤50 ms latency.
• All cameras reachable on the LAN and viewable remotely via secure VPN.
• Guest and management networks fully segregated and passing vulnerability scans.

Please share two or three similar hotel or campus deployments you have completed, note the hardware brands you prefer (Unifi, Aruba, Cisco, etc.), and outline a timeline from design approval to go-live.
