FortiGate 100 Secure Network Deployment

I am rolling out a FortiGate 100-series firewall in a group of small office and IoT-heavy sites and want the entire environment built for maximum security from day one. The scope covers everything from the first power-on to a fully documented, production-ready network.
Here is what I need you to accomplish:
• Install and harden the FortiGate 100 firewall, then build all security policies in line with best practice.
• Design a topology that prioritises threat containment and segmentation; the end goal is stronger security across our user LAN, guest Wi-Fi, and IoT zones.
• Configure remote-access VPNs—both SSL VPN and IPsec VPN—so staff can connect securely from any device.
• Create a virtual test lab that mirrors the live setup (FortiGate VM, GNS3 or Packet Tracer are all acceptable) to validate every change before it reaches production.
• Optimise performance, troubleshoot issues you uncover, and verify the final build with a light security audit and basic penetration test.
• Deliver step-by-step documentation, complete configuration backups, and remain available for post-deployment support to ensure a smooth hand-over.
Acceptance criteria: the firewall must pass a vulnerability scan with no critical findings, the VPN must sustain multiple concurrent users without packet loss, and all documentation must be clear enough for a junior admin to follow.
